Offering several craft brews, expat favourite The Star is also sought out by travellers tired of Super Bock and Sagres, Portugal’s two main beers. In an interior decorated by The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix posters, British owners Rick and Rosie also serve a killer chicken curry, and run weekly karaoke and quiz nights (Sundays and Mondays, respectively). Expect classic tunes from the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Don’t leave without buying your very own Star T-shirt, available in black, blue or pink.

“We were just passing on the first night of our holiday and stopped for a nightcap, but we found a new local for our holidays. The bar is run by Rick and Roxy, who couldn’t have been nicer. It’s a retro place with a good mix of locals and tourists that suited our group of 5, ranging from 23 to 56 years.
I can highly recommend The Star to anyone.”

“I visited The Star last month while on my solo trip to Lagos. To my surprise the owners, Rosy and Rick were from Fiji , just like my family. What a small world. And they were really great with me, super welcoming and loved to chat. I had such a fantastic time with the locals and made a few new friends.”

“An absolutely must-go in Lagos.
To be clear. It’s not one of those get-wasted bars, where the music is so loud that you can’t have a chat, of which Lagos has way to many.
It’s more like a Rock Pub.
We searched for a nice relaxed bar for a few Drinks and the Star was just perfect.
